In September, we redesigned our search experience, added AI-generated document summaries, introduced allocator compensation data, expanded email alerts, and gave managers the ability to edit their own profiles.
A Better Search Experience
In September, we rebuilt our main search filters from the ground up. The new filter system is cleaner and more powerful, enabling users to do more detailed searches for both managers and allocators. The new filters enable users to filter managers by factors including disclosed LPs, internal capital, new launches, specific private holdings, and team changes.
As a reminder, once you’ve chosen your filters you can save your custom searches to review later by clicking “Save Search” at the bottom of the panel.

You can also now bulk add managers from your search results to a group via the select column on the left. This will allow you to quickly scale up your groups to monitor future alerts.
AI Document Summaries
OWL continues to collect thousands of documents for manager and allocator profiles. In September, we added AI-generated summaries that surface the key takeaways from each document at a glance. The summaries appear in the Docs tab and in the feed, and they’re especially useful for the more complex documents we obtain through FOIA requests, pulling out the most relevant data points so users can get what they need without reading the full filing.

Allocator Compensation
LP profiles now include allocator compensation data for foundations and endowments. This is the start of a broader allocator people dataset on OWL – more to come in the future!
You can find compensation data in a few places:
- An allocator's compensation page – accessible on the lefthand menu while on an LP’s profile. Within the data, you can click "Total Compensation" for any individual to see their compensation history over time.
- Allocator Compensation search – a featured view that allows you to browse and filter across all allocators.
Filings often include people outside the investment office (a university's athletic coaches, for example), so we have added an investment team toggle that focuses the view on the most relevant team members.

That said, it’s also a good data source to see how much your favorite football and basketball coaches are making!
Customized Emails and Additional Alerts
We recently revamped our alert emails, giving users flexibility to choose which events they want to see, and at what frequency. We also added a number of event types to the alerts, including LP changes, new private company investments, and SEC terminations. Users can access these preferences via their account settings.

We also expanded our allocator alert tracking, so users can be the first to see new events including allocator holdings changes, performance disclosures, or compensation changes.
Manager Profile Editing
OWL’s manager users can now edit their firm's profile directly from their summary page, starting with key data points like AUM. We will continue to release new profile editing features in the coming weeks, so please send us any suggestions.

More Data in the OWL Connector
Allocator compensation and our expanded private returns data that launched on the platform in August are now available in the OWL Claude connector, so you can run your own custom analysis – comparing CIO pay across peer institutions and digging deeper into the returns for more than 8,500 private funds.
We're excited to get our users’ thoughts on these new features and welcome your feedback as we continue to evolve the platform. Keep the ideas coming!
