In February, we completely overhauled manager and allocator search, added new ways to discover and monitor managers on the landing page and expanded our Manager Docs feature.
Improved Manager Search
In February, we completely redesigned and meaningfully improved our manager search functionality, accessible by clicking "Managers" on the left-hand menu. Users can now search and filter our 16,000+ managers by hundreds of unique data points. Some of our favorites include filtering by year founded (a great way to find spinouts and new launches), by a particular LP or group of LPs, or by AUM or team growth. All of these options are available through the blue "Filters" menu on the right side.

Users can also customize the columns they see in search results and save searches to revisit later. To help you get started, we've pre-populated a set of "OWL Favorites" saved searches with some of our recommended starting points - take a look for inspiration.

For every search, the results can be viewed as a table, a map, or as an event feed for those specific managers. Users can toggle the view on the upper left of the search page. Below we show the map version of our “NYC Biotech” saved search:

OWL was already the best place to find managers, and this new functionality massively improves allocators' ability to do just that. We'll be rolling out additional filters in the coming weeks, so please use the new features and share your feedback.
Improved Allocator Search
In addition to managers, we've launched a new and improved way to search and filter for allocators. Users can now filter by factors including assets, disclosed manager investments, location, returns, and more. This is just the beginning - over the coming months, we're focused on building allocator search into a more powerful tool that mirrors the depth of manager search. Within our allocator search tool, we’ve also included a few OWL Favorites to help you get started, with many more to come.
As part of this update, we also moved our endowment returns tracker into Allocator Discovery as a saved search. It can also be accessed directly from the Featured Views menu on the left-hand navigation.
Manager Hover Cards on OWL Feed
We added a new hover card to the landing page feed. When you hover over any manager name, a card appears with key information about that manager, along with a quick option to add them to one of your groups without leaving the page. It's a small but handy way to act on something interesting the moment you spot it in your feed.

Manager Docs in Your Alert Feed
In January, we launched Manager Documents - a library of publicly available materials including manager letters and research reports, surfaced directly on each manager's summary page. Allocator users can also request documents from managersthey would like to hear more from.
In February, we extended this feature for users: Manager Docs are now integrated into the alert feed. You'll receive a notification any time a new document is added for a manager you follow, so you never miss a new letter or report from the managers you're monitoring.

Executive Officers: Direct Links to Employee Profiles
On the Executive Officers card found on each manager's summary page, you can now click directly through to an individual's full employee details and LinkedIn profile. Previously this card showed ownership information only, but now serves as a quick jumping-off point to learn more about the people behind the firm.

MCP Access: Beta Now Open
We are opening up MCP (Model Context Protocol) access to a select group of beta customers. MCP is a tool that allows AI assistants like Claude to connect directly to external tools and data sources - in this case, OWL. Once connected, you can ask Claude questions and have it pull live OWL data to answer them, without ever leaving your AI workflow. Think of it as giving Claude direct access to OWL's manager and allocator intelligence, so you can query, analyze, and act on that data conversationally.

For this initial cohort, we're focusing on users who are already using Claude with Claude Connectors. We plan to offer a ChatGPT connector in the coming months as well. If you're a customer interested in joining the beta, please reach out!
As always, we appreciate your ideas and feedback – please keep them coming!
