In April, we launched the ability for managers to directly add docs to OWL, improved our Employee and Fund Offering search tools, updated our global app search, and made OWL Insights easier to access.

Manager-Contributed Data is now in OWL
In April, we launched the First 50 – an invite-only founding cohort of fund managers joining OWL. These managers are now contributing their marketing materials, letters, and reports directly to the platform, and manager-contributed returns will start appearing soon.
OWL gives managers control over exactly what they share and with whom, and a direct line to the OWL allocator base – so it works whether they are open to new relationships or just want a more efficient way to stay connected with existing ones. Managers also get access to OWL’s competitive intelligence on 21,000+ managers and 10,000+ allocator profiles with holdings data.
Spots are filling quickly, and the group ranges from pre-launch managers spinning out of large firms to established managers with 20+ year track records, public and private, US and international. The one thing they have in common: every manager was invited by an existing member of the OWL community.
Each manager page now has a Data Room consolidating contributed documents alongside materials we surface from public sources (FOIA requests, activist filings, regulatory disclosures), all filterable by type and date.
Thank you to all of our allocator users who have invited managers so far. It matters to us that OWL's existing users shape who joins from here. The one-click "Invite Manager" button is on every manager page:

Employee Search
The new Employee Search makes OWL’s people data directly searchable for the first time. You can query across investment professionals at firms in our database and filter by firm, title, location, and much more. Similar to our Manager Search and Allocator Search functionality, every search can be saved.
A couple examples of questions you can now answer:
- What are all the latest pod shop employee moves?
- Who works at a recently launched firm with the job title “Founder”?
With more than 1.3 million employee profiles in OWL, this new functionality makes it easier for users to track the trends and moves that matter to them. Below is an example of founders of investment firms that attended Vanderbilt:

Global Search
A revamped global search bar lives at the top of every page. Start typing and you’ll see live results across managers, allocators, and stocks, with quick links to manager summaries, docs, feeds, and employee pages.

Quick Access to Private Holdings
Private Holdings data is now available directly on the manager summary pages. Users can now toggle between a manager’s private and public market holdings. The Positions tab provides the full details for both public and private holdings.

Quick Access to Saved Searches
Saved searches are now one click away from every search page. Whether you’re in manager search, allocator search, fund offerings, or employee search, your saved views surface immediately so you can jump back into ongoing research without re-applying filters.

Refreshed Form D Feed
We’ve rebuilt the Form D feed with a cleaner layout and a full set of filters. Form Ds are the SEC notices managers file when raising new private capital, and the refreshed feed makes it easy to track new fund launches and capital raises every day. You can filter by new funds, fund type, manager tags, target size, filing date, and even OWL Groups. Any filtered view can be saved to revisit later.
A couple examples of questions you can now answer:
- What are the recent investment offerings in the past 90 days?
- Which OWL Biotech managers have raised capital recently?

OWL Connector Additions
Our OWL Claude connector launched in beta and we’ve continued to increase the amount of data that is accessible through the connector. In April, we added the fund offering data mentioned above. Additionally, users can now perform actions, like building OWL Saved Searches, directly from Claude.
If you’re already using Claude and want the ability to ask questions against live OWL data without leaving your AI workflow, reach out and we’ll get you set up.
Easy OWL Insights Access
OWL’s research and content now lives directly in the platform. The new Insights page surfaces our latest posts and analyses alongside the data, and you can browse the full archive without leaving the app. We will continue to use Insights to publish data-driven analysis of what we’re seeing across our manager and allocator universe.

As always, if you have feedback or ideas, please reach out.
